Are you searching for quite tranquil mystic land? The land where bird sings, goats laugh and nature smile by embracing you. I was searching for that too and fortunately I saw a place and I was actually there with my friends in 2025. the place is extremely beautiful and quite that will get your love at first sight. you are wondering what is that place. 

The place is near Kalimpong district of West Bengal known as Kaffergaon. I and some of my friends planed the trip in 2025 monsoon. I will explain all the details here in the blog about the hidden gem in Kalimpong.

Kalimpong or Kaffergaon? What is the better option in 2026

To be honest, it depends on what you prefer more like a culturally rich but quite crowded place or quite place with splendid natural beauty which is why I prefer Kaffergaon over Kalimpong. I like quite places due to more clean environment and the ability to explore unexplored or untapped places by many. Kalimpong is quite expensive and well known place among the people but it lacks the peace which can be given by Kaffergaon. Kaffergaon has excellent view of Kanchanjungha. Kalimpong has too but not like Kaffergaon. Kaffergaon has more diverse wildife than Kalimpong town. 


Bio Diversity of Kaffergaon (Kalimpong District)

During my 1 night 2 day trip I explored less but the places I see found many birds and a snake called green pit viper unfortunately could not capture it. 
I saw and captured birds liek Rufous Sibia and Verditer Flyrcather along side oriental turtle dove and Red whiskered bulbul. 
It is been said that red headed trogon found in Kaffergaon. It has variety of flora like  green Himalayan Paradise and Rhododendron.

How far is Kalimpong from Kaffergaon?

Kalimpong is 55 Km away from kaffergaon and less chance of getting bus from Kaffergaon but you can easily get bus or bolero from Kalimpong.
